Make Your Ceiling More Dramatic With Tin Ceiling Tiles

In most homes people have white ceilings, either sprayed on or in the form of white ceiling tiles. This can be a little boring, even when the ceiling has some texture to it. Some people do something a little different and paint their ceiling a different color, but this isn't all that common. Another option that can really make a ceiling stand out is the use of tin or faux tin tiles.

Tin ceiling tiles can be used to give a whole different look to your ceiling. They can be purchased in a number of different finishes, including white, brass, chrome, and copper. The white ones are even paintable if you would like to have another color. They come in a variety of different patterns, including floral circles, panels, fans, and vines, or they come in a variety of textures or as smooth tiles. Many have the look of antique tin ceiling tiles.

Pressed tin tiles can be used in any room of your home. Much the same way people use vinyl floor tiles all over the place. They even make tin bathroom tiles. These tiles would look especially good in the kitchen though, and you can get matching back splashes from many companies so you can have an integrated look. You can get these tiles from a number of different companies, including Armstrong. They usually come as two foot by two foot tiles, or two foot by four foot tiles, although some places do sell one foot by one foot tiles as well. It is a good idea to get a good quality tile that will look great and last a long time.

Once you choose your ceiling tiles, you will need to get them installed. You can get this professionally done, or you can do it yourself. Just make sure that if you are going to do this you purchase an extra ten percent or so of tile to use for the edges where you can't use a full tile. You can look on the internet for instructions on how to install tine ceiling tiles, and then you will get a better idea of just what is involved. You can also find information on smooth-on and tin ceiling tiles in this manner.
